The Cara Cara Margarita
Costa Tequila’s resident culinary queen is at it again, creating a something special for National Margarita Day later this month. Introducing the Cara Cara Margarita, by Chef Meredith Ouzounian.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Costa Tequila Reposado
- 1 oz Orange Liqueur
- 3 oz *Grilled Hatch Chili, Ginger, Cara Cara water
- Ice
- Course salt
- Grilled orange & ginger slices
Instructions:
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake well the tequila, orange liqueur, and infused water.
- Take a short cocktail glass and rub the rim with a orange slice, and dip the rim into coarse salt. Add ice to the inside of the glass, and pour shaken cocktail over the ice.
- Garnish with the grilled cara cara orange slice and ginger slice.

*Grilled Hatch Chili, Ginger, Cara Cara Infused Water Recipe
Ingredients:
1 fresh Hatch Chili
1 fresh Cara Cara orange, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
1 (4 inch) Ginger root, sliced lengthwise in half
8 ounces filtered water
Instructions:
- Grill on a hot grill all fresh ingredients to create a nice char on all sides. Place grilled ingredients into a large jar or pitcher. Add filtered water, and cover. Refrigerator for at least 24 hours, or up to one week to get a stronger infusion of flavors in the water.
